by Ed Dominick

25-May -08

Hi All

Just a great time was had on Memorial Day weekend.    The visitor count was the same as an average Sunday even though I met many out of towners.

Engineers were: Brian, Julie, Eric and Ed.

The park was quite active and the ice cream was cold and refreshing.

Brian's Nickel Plate Berkshire "Golden Spike" .

Eric ran a short hot metal consist pulled by a GM Electro Motive (Williams SD-90 MAC).

Ed ran his new UP Big Boy (4-8-8-4) by MTH Railking with Proto Sound 2 Freight sounds.

Brian's Great Northern Challenger with awesome sounds and looks.

Eric ran his MTH Cat train shown here with a dummy SD-90 (Premier) being pushed by a powered SD-90 (Railking).

Eric ran his second MTH Cat train with a pair of Norfolk Southern SD-60M's. Local folk seem unimpressed.

The 3-Railer layout was invaded by a group of M&Ms who tried to command this AMTRAK passenger train.
Is the Great Train Robbery about to occur??

The M&Ms also "attacked" Eric's Cat train.   What happened to the Conductor and Brake Man??

Julie ran an MTH NYC Dryfuss 4-6-4 passenger train (20th Century Limited) which was a standout on the layout.

The M&Ms parade as a "show of force".  Their leader looks like it came from another time (or was that a movie?)

A police helicopter kept an "eye" on the group as they headed for Motel 6.    Was there a vacancy there??

An unexpected site when the back door was opened at closing time.   One patient was taken away.   Was it the groom from a nearby wedding??
