Sunday Report
by Ed Dominick
30-November
-08
Greetings Railfans,
Ed Dominick and Jim Terhune were the engineers of the day.
We had a large crowd all day, and a birthday party for some lucky child was held in the upstairs library area.
Lego Train display continued in the party/meeting room, which officially ends on Saturday 17 Jan 2009 (see pics)
Jim ran a pair of Norfolk and Western Class J's 4-8-4 Northern steamers by Lionel.
Jim also ran #2009 a Y3 Norfolk and Western articulated.
All three motive power were impressive to watch and the visitors enjoyed them especially the sounds at the station and the deep
throated roar of their whistle signally a mighty force is coming around the bend. Most impressive when coming out of the tunnel.
Ed ran an Amtrak Superliner, an East Coast freight pulled by two CSX AC4400CW diesels
Thomas and Friends also performed on the Blue line.
Numerous visitors were assisted by the 3-Railer engineers with hints on cleaning tubular track, cleaning old engines and cars, info on
starter train sets, building techniques and other train related inquiries.
The visitors also informed 3-Railer engineers of their personal experiences at various train exhibits around the country.
A very enjoyable and rewarding experience to be a 3-Railer performing and educating the public and fellow railfans about model trains!!
Enjoy the pics and may you all have a safe and loving holiday with family and friends.
Enjoy the pics............... Ed
